Just that really have you ever had a womb biopsy and how did you find it?

Ive To have one after a scan showed a thickening of the womb walls. I also had a colposcopy last week.

I am all gynaecological out.

There are so many variations and experiences on this @DiaryofWimpy

I've had a biopsy on its own which was more or less painless. No worse and even better (?) than a smear. Took 5 minutes.
It's like a tiny nip.

I also had a hysteroscopy without pain relief.
I have private insurance, so the procedure was covered and was done by the same dr I'd been with for many years so that in itself was reassuring.
The options were no pain relief, local if needed, GA if local wasn't enough.
I decided to try with nothing (because the biopsy alone had been okay) and it was fine. I didn't want all the palaver of a GA, being escorted home, involving other people etc.
It did take a while as my cervix was a bit tight, but in all honesty it wasn't painful.

It's a very personal experience and you will get all kinds of different ones when you ask- just like childbirth!

I had one recently and requested a general anaesthetic.

I had a biopsy as part of a hysteroscopy. There was a local anaesthetic into the cervix.

I was very nervous - had taken over the counter painkillers beforehand and one lowest dose Diazepam.

The only thing that I felt was the speculum going in. Didn't even know that the biopsy was done until it was all over. As an encore, the gynae fitted a Mirena coil to protect the womb via localised progesterone. Didn't feel any of that either.

I was astonished - I was 64 at the time, never had children.

Same! Took some paracetamol before hand, but didn't feel a thing. Had a local in my cervix, no pain. No bleeding. In and out, drive home, normal day. Also the scan was wrong. I didn't have a thickened womb, it had just picked up a small fibroid. All was well.
