Intrarosa DHEA - any experiences?

Does anyone have any experience of Intrarosa? Have you had any side effects?

My GP has agreed I can start Intrarosa DHEA. I was already using local oestrogen cream for exterior discomfort and previous skin splits, but want something to help with libido and sexual response, which I’ve read Intrarosa can do.

I really had to push for it because she said it wasn’t licenced for that as a proven benefit, which I appreciate but there are exploratory findings in this direction.

In the end she agreed that I could switch from the cream to trial Intrarosa ‘for dryness’. And she’d be interested to hear if I did get other benefits (I feel a bit like a guinea pig but I’ll take it!!).

For those who may not know, DHEA is turned into small amounts of both testosterone and oestrogen locally. Its main purpose is to help with symptoms of vaginal atrophy such as dryness, painful sex and UTIs.

I've used intrarosa and still use half a pessary for 'outside' sometimes as an alternative to oestrogen cream ( I use an estring).

I like it, it's very moisturising and quite slippy/greasy. I've not really noticed any huge increase in libido when I use it though, maybe a little increased sensitivity.
I should caveat that by saying I don't have what I would consider a low libido (sex 2-3 times a week).
My libido was flagging about 18 months ago (a mix of extreme stress, family illness and menopause) but 8 months after I started systemic hrt it very suddenly increased big time back to where it was in my 20s. I only tried intrarosa for the first time after that.

I added androfeme about 2.5 months ago and that has been great for brain fog, energy and longer, very easy orgasms. It increased my testosterone from 1 to 1.2.

Give it a go OP, you've got nothing to lose.

Thanks @Additup. My GP won’t entertain testosterone so I’m hoping this helps!

I don’t have an issue with wanting sex / arousal but orgasms are pathetically weak compared to what they used to be.

Then you may find androfeme will work for you better. You can only get it privately in the UK.
