Doctors appointments

Decided today to make an appointment to discuss the menopause. Up till now felt I’ve been coping ok however libido has seriously disappeared, sleep pattern keeps changing, night sweats unsure if it’s just the heat.
Had a coil fitted 4 years ago which helped immensely with very heavy periods.
contacted the doctors asking to speak to a specialist in this area. Sent me a link to have a telephone consultation I happen to be on holiday then it’s in a few weeks time plus the gps don’t specialise in this area. So I contacted the doctors asking for a face to face appointment but they are being very unhelpful. So frustrating trying to get to see anyone. Are other surgeries like this?

I'm a bit confused.

How do you know the GP in question doesn't specialise in this area?

If you know that, then what does a F2F appt give you over a telephone appt ?

Obviously they wouldn't have known you were on holiday. Is there a reason you can't say "Oh, Im on holiday on that day, can I have one the next week please?" ? As that would seem a pretty normal conversation for anyone making appts to have.

Sounds normal to me.

My initial telephone consultation with GP I had to wait 6 weeks for and I got the prescription sent to my local pharmacy from that call.

All 3 review appointments since have been telephone with an ANP and then one face to face for a blood pressure check. Never had any problems with the ANP, she is very supportive of HRT.
