Hot flashes increasing 2 years after menopause

Has this happened to anyone? Have had manageable hot flashes until now. One or two a night. Rarely in the day. Now, two years after official menopause, I am having hot flashes many times a day and night. Has anyone had a resurgence or increase over time after menopause? This is driving me nuts. I do not have hyperthyroidism. So definitely not that. If anything have had borderline hypothyroidism (no medication) which should make you cold. Instead breaking out in sweats randomly at any moment. Any experiences of increasing hot flashes years after menopause?

It happens and is common.

I am coming up to nearly 20 years post menopause and after a couple of trials stopping HRT I was still getting night sweats.

I've been told by my consultant that some women have them for life and there are women in their 80s still on HRT.

A lot of women don't start hrt till post menopause when symptoms kick-in - our bodies are gradually losing more estrogen.

Would you consider hrt?

Some of us at the gym senior flex class had a discussion about the fact that we're still getting hot flashes - seems it's actually quite common.

6 years past menopause and hot flushes are worse than ever. Especially if I feel stressed.

I didn’t start HRT until 2 years post menopause. I think losing significant weight (less estrogen stored in fat) probably exacerbated the symptoms.
