Hello! I just found this site. I came in search of sharers of menopause misery. I am looking to support and be supported here. It is a maddening time isn't it? 😂 May we all get through this together. ❤

What in particular are you experiencing/ struggling with OP?

SR50 · 02/08/2026 15:22

The hot feeling, the palpitations. These two symptoms are the worst. I can tolerate just about anything else. The irregular periods don't bother me as I am happy to be having less of that.

EDIT... your comment makes me feel like I should have added this to my original post. But Apparently only one edit is allowed? It seems I wasted my single chance to edit on fixing a typo... 🤦‍♀️

You can do many edits but only in a certain time of posting the original post :)

Have you explored HRT?

SR50 · 02/08/2026 17:48

No, I have not. I have heard that it can bad for things like blood clots and stroke risk. I'm leery for that reason. I am hoping maybe to find some good alternatives to HRT.

There is no stroke or clot risk when using transdermal forms of HRT. for example patch or gel. I’ve attached a booklet you might find helpful.

It’s all now been debunked - the WHI study was oral estrogen (better to use transdermal) and synthetic progesterone (can use bio identical). I’m using HRT due to night sweats but it’s also beneficial for other reasons - bone health, muscle preservation, cognition, heart health.

Thank you. I will have a look.
