I eventually tried a regime called Tridestra, 70 days of estrogen 2mg tablets, followed by 14 days of medroxyprogesterone plus estrogen followed by 7 days of taking nothing, and having a withdrawal bleed, then back to taking estrogen and start again. Unfortunately the manufacturer has stopped making Tridestra but my Dr prescribes all the components for me and I keep a diary of where I am, I also take Tostran testosterone for lack of libido.
I’m more than happy with my regime. Utrogeston literally sent me nuts, crying, getting upset over nothing, rocking back and forth, it was scary. I tolerate the medroxyprogesterone for the 14 days, I have tried taking it every day with the estrogen but after a few weeks my mood takes a dive, this is the best for me.
I’m so grateful to Dr Smith, she is so knowledgeable. She was the lead Dr at our NHS menopause clinic, but this was closed down just before I needed help. For me I’d have to travel 15 miles to my nearest NHS menopause clinic, it’s disgraceful how they closed ours down.
I can definitely recommend this HRT regime, my life is so much better. The testosterone is amazing as well, I had no libido whatsoever. Currently I’m in the spare bed as my husband needs to get some sleep 🤣. He initially thought I no longer wanted him before the Tostran, I can’t leave him alone now 🤪
