Is Lenzetto spray safe to use if I may not be postmenopausal?

I have had a month on combined patch but chose to switch to spray as had mirena coil replaced yesterday. I’ve just opened the box and the leaflet says Lenzetto spray is only for post menopausal women. I’m 53 and don’t know if I am or not (mum and sisters periods stopped at around 55) due to years with coils. Is Lenzetto safe for me to use at this point? GP was a locum and didn’t seem very versed in hrt.

This wording crops up on a few estrogen HRT products and it's a bit of a mystery why!

ok, thank you. It also said only take for severe hot flushes so making me doubt myself!

It's not the only option- you could use estrogen gel or an estrogen only patch.

@JinglingSpringbells thanks, I’ve tried the gel in the past but took ages to dry on me but may go back. Have you seen the alarming dispensing apparatus of the Lenzetto?! Not one for the recycling!

I’ve been on Lenzetto a few years and not post-menopausal yet. I’ve also never had a hot flush- I was prescribed it because I was having problems with pain and stiffness in my hands, and with awful anxiety. Lenzetto is working really well for me.

And yes @Thedogswhiskers- I wish the packaging was more eco friendly 😔

I use Lenzetto. Also didn't have hot flushes but was getting headaches and aches and issues sleeping and it really helps. I take the old dispensers to the pharmacy for them to dispose of.

Ah thanks @Doobiesista- don’t know why I didn’t think of giving the dispensers back to the pharmacy.

I’m perimenopausal and on Lenzetto. It was my last resort, patches didn’t stick and the Oestrogel was making me very unwell. I wish I’d changed to it sooner rather than suffering a year on the gel blaming my fluctuating hormones. But everyone is so different. Like some of the other posts say, I just return my empties to the pharmacy

Yes. I am in peri and have been using it for over a year. Surely the time to use hrt
is in peri rather than post menopause? 🤷

@Sunshineandgrapefruit Not necessarily! I had no peri symptoms and didn't use HRT till post meno. I've friends who were the same. That's why some women carry on using it for years- some into their 80s. There are two versions of HRT- for peri and post menopause.
