Has anyone been prescribed this & has it actually helped.
Im 50 and up until I’d say three years ago had a more than healthy libido. It’s dwindled to almost nothing now :-( which is sad for me as lost so much also not much good for my relationship. Im still active it’s just not the same. Already on HRT and have great diet/exercise etc. Please tell me what are your experiences around testosterone or is there anything else that’s helped

Yes and yes. Took six months to be effective, though, and I had to increase the dose. Vaginal estrogen helped just as much. I would recommend trying the latter first as I believe it’s cheaper.

I use Androfeme but I would caveat that by saying my libido wasn't particularly low when I started using it due to using hrt/vaginal oestrogen i think. I started androfemme 3 months ago because I fancied giving it a try. My baseline testosterone was 1.0 nmol/l and its now 1.2 nmol/l. I'm on 0.5ml. You measure it out with a little syringe which is very easy.

It has increased my libido and within a week of starting it i felt more focused and had more energy which is great. Testosterone works on erectile tissue apparently and its definitely made my whole clitoris/vulva more sensitive and responsive.

Overall, I recommend it.

Thanks both ! Not sure what my bloods even are re testosterone just know libido is on the floor . Have appt made with Gp so should be cheaper than buying it elsewhere? Good point about giving it time . I need to remember that !

Hi OP, your GP should offer a baseline testosterone blood test to check your starting point. I started vaginal oestrogen and testosterone at the same time so it's difficult to separate out the effects of both. I have got my sexual response back and can orgasm again, not every time but much more often than before. Everything in that area feels almost back to where it was before, and much more comfortable

Cheaper? This is a British website, all drugs are free at the point of delivery on the NHS. She should get what works best for her.

Not if you're using androfeme which is only available privately.

If

Hi OP. it's amazing. Took 3 weeks to work it's magic on me.

I've been using it for three years now. I sometimes have to ease off as my nipples get very sore and go beyond pleasantly sensitive.

My GP did blood test and prescribed it. I have testogel.

Testosterone isn’t covered and you need to get it on a private prescription.

That's not true. I've been prescribed it by the NHS menopause clinic

Well there you go, that’s good to know. Was it androfemme?

OP, I personally found the vaginal estrogen worked faster than the testosterone, but others find the testosterone works really quickly for them. It also has the added benefit for some people of more energy and less brain fog so definitely worth trying.

@BibbityBobbity2 vaginal oestrogen doesn't help libido. I was on it for ages before I started T.

My GP prescribes T. And it is covered by my (not HRT) pre payment cert.
