Moving from Androfemme to Tostran

Interested in anyone’s experience of moving from Androfemme to Tostran. I’m currently doing really well on my private testosterone prescription. My NHS menopause clinic finally came through after a year and a half waiting (hence the private clinic) and they can only offer me Tostran. Has anyone made this switch and how did it go? I’d obviously prefer all my care under one roof but nervous to mess with the one element of my HRT that is definitely helping.

Also to add that I know it has been approved on the NHS but prescribing is likely to take a few more years apparently

I've not taken Androfeme, but Tostran is the least accurate process ever !

I have the pump, instructions are to squeeze out one pump onto a surface then eyeball 1/4 of a pump and attempt to apply a slippery gel to an unspecified body part.

I've not tried the little sachets, I feel they might actually be easier once you've got the right eyeball measure of how much to apply. It's the whole how do you get the gel from the plate to your arm thing that gets me.

I'm on Tostran but my instructions complete differ to those posted by Bells above. 1 pump applied to inner arm/stomach 3 times a week. No fannying around

Thanks both, I think she said I would be on one pump every three days. How have you found it?

My instructions are the same as yours. Either 3 times a week or every alternate day. I do Tuesday, Thursday and either Saturday or Sunday.

My gynaecologist did say I could do a half pump a day but I find the alternate day thing easier.

It’s been great for me. I would suggest moving/rotating your application site. I do inner arms, upper thighs, back of knees.

I spent a long time applying on my inner arms and I did experience some hair thickening and darkening. The hair was already there, just got thicker and darker. No other side effects other than more energy, better mental clarity, less brain fog.

I had the same problem with keeping to the same application site! I really enjoy the benefits of the Androfemme so just worried about switching to the NHS gel. Have any of you lived over or did you all start on the gel?

My NHS GP prescribes testogel. It's really easy, perhaps ask if they can prescribe it?

A sachet broken into 8 pea sized lumps. Never had an issue with it. I usually forget for a few days then remember again. Been on it 3yrs no issues.

I've just been prescribed Tostran. One pump twice a week initially, then thrice and then alternate days if necessary.
I'm both excited and nervous!
Have users found it good??
