Anyone experienced post-menopausal bleeding after two years without periods?

Hi all. Just needing to seek other people’s experiences to keep my sanity 🤣🤣 had no periods for 2plus years and no signs of bleeding at all in this time. Didn’t do HRT and managed to get though it quite well. Last month I had what I would call a tiny brown stain on toilet paper and had GP appointment who did an internal and said. Er I’d looked fine with no bleeding present and did a urine test. This last week I had a very sore down below and thought it was some irritation from a product I’d used as it was more uncomfortable than painful. I then started to bleed, started as normal period type bleed with brown staining and then to red fresh blood. Bleeding now for 4 days. Have been put on the 2 week pathway as standard for post meno bleeding. No pain at all. Anyone else had similar? I’m worried about the Big C xx

Yup, exactly as you described. Had a scan then was called back for a hysteroscopy. It was harmless polyps in my uterus, they removed them and everything's back to normal.

Same here. No periods for a few years, a week of brown then fresh then brown again blood, like a period. Not loads but enough for a pantry liner.

Got put on 2 week pathway, had scan, removed a polyp from cervix.

Yes, I did. I even ovulated - I got the pain and the sudden rise in libido too.
I had a hysteroscopy and all was fine.
The gynaecologist told me its quite common for it to randomly happen post menopause.

v similar happened to me as what you’ve described after 5 years of ‘menopause’ ( no periods at all in thst time)

Turns out wasn’t menopause. Periods had stopped due to low weight/body fat (sports training), and were now returning

was put on two week pathway, had scans, swabs, blood tests, dexa bone scan.

everything fine - turns out im just still some years away from full menopause

Yes I had the same ,was sent for a scan and an exam and they found a cyst which needed removing. Also had an MRI too.

I had this, and my polyps were pre-cancerous. I had a hysterectomy and no further treatment. As I'd been put on the 2 week pathway it was quite quick. Apart from that I wasn't treated for cancer, as it was caught in the pre cancerous stage.

Me. Started bleeding after a painful cervical smear. Was seen quickly via the 2 week rule, and polyps found. Had them out ASAP and all fine after.

If it's a full blown period it's unlikely to be endo cancer. That is more often very light spotting and watery (which some women ignore and then it gets worse.)

Polyps do not usually bleed as much as a period.

It's more likely to be a late period.

How old are you?

If you're under 50, the guidance on contraception says carry on for 2 years , so that means it's possible to ovulate for 2 years after a 'last' period.
