Loose stools after starting Oestrogel and iron supplements?

I started HRT 12 days ago - I have started on day 1 of period and am taking 1 pump of oestrogel and due to start progesterone in 3 days to take for days 15-26. The last few days I have had loose stools, and this has also been my ovulation time. I’ve also had a nervous stomach/anxious feeling in the morning even though I feel ok in myself. I also started ferrous sulphate about 3 weeks ago but had to change to Ferrograd C as I couldn’t tolerate the ferrous sulphate. Anyone had this side effect with oestrogel? Not sure if it’s that or the iron supplements or a bit of both? Any tips/points of view welcome! I’ve felt crappy for so long with tiredness, brain fog, constipation previously so was a bit fed up that I now have something else to make me feel crappy!

I find iron hard to take in pretty much any format. When I was low, I took about half the dose prescribed. My levels corrected eventually and the Dr was ok with my approach.

Maybe reduce the estrogen to half a pump for a week or more then build up again.
Side effects vary so much but if you start low and build up it helps.

Yes, the ferrous sulphate I just could not tolerate and I did try every other day but it didn't help - I think I will continue the ferrograd c every other day as well - I wish there was another way I could boost Iron but I think I will try to get up to a level and then stop and maintain from there

Thanks very much - I think I will try that for a week and see if it helps - I am due to start progesterone on Weds so I hope that doesn't make me feel worse! The GP said I did need to try it for 3 months so I appreciate it is still very early days and I am quite sensitive to medications it seems since I turned 40

It's the iron. I'm just taking iron supplements and I have the same issues.

Iron supplement should only be taken every other day but many GPs are still saying everyday. So if you’re taking it daily change to every other day.
