Any tips for stiff achey muscles brought on by all this?

I’m having a nightmare with stiff legs. Seems to coincide with low estrogen parts of the month (ruled out other stuff) looking up on it it seems to be a common symptom.

I’m trying more water, magnesium, hot water, has anyone got any tips please or anything you are trying? I’m on .75 estrogen patch and cyclical progesterone 200 capsules.

Thanks!

Qi gong.
The stiffness is due to tightening & shrinking fascia. Qi Gong stretches and lubricates the fascia and keeps it hydrated, preventing the stiffness.

There are loads of people doing Qi Gong routines on TikTok, a minute of each movement, you can be done in 9 minutes per day, it seems daft, but it feels amazing.

You need a higher oestrogen dose. Ask for your levels to be checked when you feel the stiffness and maybe swap to the oestrogen spray?

Yes think you might be right, will ask for a review. Have you tried the spray? I tried the gel but preferred the patch as had too many symptoms returning on the gel.

I took co codamol for my legs. I also take magnesium glycinate. My ferritin tends to be low, which can affect my legs so I take iron and vit c.

Have you had your ferritin checked?

Augustus40 · 30/06/2026 07:47

Vit d3 helped me. Solgar brand. The Holland and Barrett one did not help.

Oh good idea! Haven’t had it checked in ages and yes I do get achey legs with low ferritin!

I am going to start tai chi off youtube for my hips. May help to know. I am bored with yoga and stopped ages ago. The other thing is caffeine. I have cut my consumption by half and straight away had a much improved back.

My above comments are not menopausal as such but may help somebody. I am now post menopause and have always had funny hip aches on and off.
