Hrt storage and hot weather

Is anyone concerned about the effects of high heat on their HRT?

Both the progesterone tablets and evorel patches say do not store above 25 degrees! The coolest room in my house is 29 degrees.

Should I put it in the fridge (I don't really have space)? Or is there some tolerance? I don't think the house is even dropping to 25 degrees at night at the moment.

The thought of the patches not working and my migraine returning is quite scary....

Can you keep them in a cupboard or a drawer?

I've got mine in a closed cupboard in a room and the temp in the cupboard isn't above 25C.

Thanks for the reminder op. I opened my gel sachet evening and it had gone very runny. Off to put it in the fridge , it’s usually in a drawer. I’m not bothered about the tablets.

I don't think the drawers in my sweltering rooms are any cooler. My house is a joke right now. Wish I lived up North!

It will be fine. In hospitals if tablet medicines exceed 25*C the expiry date is usually shortened by a few months. Tablets are very stable. The fridge would not be a helpful or good thing to do.

Maybe put an ice pack in the drawer?

I think it would be unlikely if the actual temp of the patches was above 25C but if you're worried put them in the fridge.

NeonSigns · 24/06/2026 14:24

Thanks that's interesting. I was wondering about the fridge for the evorel patches but the internet also says not a good idea as it would affect the adhesive apparently.

If I can find any part of my house as low as 25 degrees I'm gonna squeeze in there with the patches.

Oh ice pack in drawer is clever. Thanks

My HRT patches aren’t staying stuck to my butt / thigh cos I'm so hot. I’ve had to use two today as they just keep peeling off!

SuperBlondie28 · 27/06/2026 23:44

My patches keep dropping off. My legs aren't sweaty or particularly hot.

I think it's because the bedroom, where I keep them, is unbearable hot. Downstairs is mid 20s. Maybe the cellar might be cooler 🤔

You should change brand.

I use Everol and I can't barely peel them off after 4 days off my bum, hot weather/swimming or anything else.
