How much is too much?

I have been on HRT for a month or two now and have to book a review with my doctor. I am
only 41 so getting this trial was a bit of a battle but my fatigue has improved hugely since being on it and generally I feel better despite being under a lot stress. I am still lacking motivation and experiencing brain fog though.

i am on the Evorel patch 50 and progesterone which I have been taking vaginally. Do you think I should ask for patch to be increased? I still feel there could be room for improvement, but I’m wondering if I could then go too far and have too much. And wasn’t sure if they would increase due to my age as perhaps I need less?

I'm 4 years younger than you and I'm on the 100 patches.

If you're only 41 you classified as in 'early' menopause, which research has shown usually means you need to start at a higher dosage to maintain bone health over the long term, not a lower one.

That doesn't mean your GP will know this, though, so advocate for yourself.

The worst that will happen if you're on 'too much' is that you won't feel better but your boobs will hurt – in which case you can reduce if you need to.

Great, thank you. It’s good that I can use boobs as an indicator! I’ve had no symptoms of being on it except improvements and my period was even lighter than usual. Hoping this means that more could only improve
