Confused about HRT being continuous not monthly cycle

I’ve been using Lenzetto spray for a few months, I’ve just upped it to 3 times a day. I also have a Mirena.
I’m applying the same amount every day continuously as that was the instructions, but it doesn’t really make sense to me. Naturally we would have a monthly cycle of varying oestrogen levels, why am I not supposed to replicate that with hrt?
I was considering trying out dropping down to two sprays for 10 days a month or maybe even tapering down to one for a few days and then back up to 3. Apart from me probably losing track and forgetting, this seems to make more sense. Has anyone tried this? Or could someone explain why hrt needs to be continuous please? I did try searching online but couldn’t find a good answer.

The dose of HRT at licensed doses is far less than our own. Also, it's not that we have no estrogen for half a month before menopause; it's in our system all the time.

So that's why you use it every day. Menopause symptoms come from loss of estrogen.

HRT isn't 'continuous' - estrogen is daily, but adding progesterone can be cyclical for part of the month .(But not with the Mirena.)

If you drop to half the month you're likely to get symptoms back and, for women not using a Mirena, they are likely to experience spotting when the estrogen levels fall.

There is no benefit to reducing to half the month.
