Testosterone 16.2mg/g pump - utterly confused

Morning all

I've just been prescribed Testosterone. My GP told me to expect sachets and suggested using half a pea sized blob every other day.

But what I received from the pharmacy was a pump, which seems to be a much higher dose than the sachets (16.2mg) with the same instructions printed on from my GP.

Does anyone know the dose you are supposed to use for a 16.2mg pump? When I look online it says in some places not to be used by women as too strong.

I'm very susceptible to feeling jittery when starting meds, so was planning to just use 2/3 times a week for the first couple of weeks to build up slowly.

Thanks in advance!

Do the instructions say how much testosterone you get in each pump?

As a guide, I take androfeme and the standard dose is 5mg a day (0.5ml in a syringe).

Thanks for replying.

It says 16.2mg/h transdermal gel. 20.25mg/actuation.

So I guess 5mg would be 1/4 of a pump.

Instructions from GP say 1/2 a pea sized pump, which is about half a pump just eyeballing the amount of gel which came out with one pump.

I think there is a lower dose of gel in a pump, I'm slightly wondering if she's prescribed the wrong product by accident.

I agree, ask the pharmacist who should be the best person to advise you.
