Has anyone else experienced weight loss during perimenopause?

Has anyone else found that they have lost weight in peri menopause? My appetite has decreased a little possibly, but not by much, yet I’ve lost about 5lb over about the last year. I’ve seen my GP, had bloods which were all good. I feel fine, was a healthy weight and still a healthy weight so my GP isn’t concerned. It’s just everything I read says you’re more likely to gain weight in peri menopause so I’m wondering if many women experience weight loss?

When I first went on HRT I lost half a stone, which I kept off for a year before it crept back on.

5lbs over a year with a decreased appetite isn't much and does make sense - it's less than half a pound a month. I wouldn't be worried, 3lbs of that could be water weight fluctuations from changing hormones.

Ha no! I wish!

52lbs I total. HRT has levelled out my hormones, mood is better, sleep is improving and that has led to me having the brain space to focus on what I’m eating and to exercise.

When my ovaries retired.. something happened to my metabolism, my blood sugars went haywire too. It raged and I lost a stone or more. Im now having to eat protein rich meals 3 times a day. And snacks. Never eaten this much before! Finally started to level out.
