Severe pain in hands and feet

Has anyone got experience of pain in hands and feet during perimenopause? I’m really struggling with this - it’s so bad that it wakes me up during the night and first thing in the morning it’s hard to walk. I started HRT a month ago, no improvement yet. I also started a biological therapy for Crohn’s disease at the same time as this started, so it’s hard to know which it is that’s causing this. Has anyone got experience of this happening during perimenopause?

Can you speak to your rheumy about possible inflammatory arthritis (eg rheumatoid/psoriatic)? This is a common first sign, and how I first suspected psoriatic arthritis. As I'm sure you know, autoimmune diseases tend to cluster.

I get slight pain and pins and needles, they’ve ruled out autoimmune and are now looking at everything possible (low phosphate, nerve issues). Do you get pins and needles op? It’s interesting you’re linking it to Peri as I have an appointment to find out about hrt but never thought they might be linked

Ive got persistent pain in my hands, the doctors did tests for arthritis but it turns out its tenosynovitis. It can also occur in the feet. Sounds a lot like what you're describing. Reducing estrogen levels are a contributing factor.
Physio and pain medication have helped a lot.

Thank you for your replies, I’ve contacted my consultant and seeing him on Friday to check whether this is a side effect of biological therapy, or something connected to my Crohn’s, rather than perimenopause
