Restarting HRT with fibroids after prolonged bleeding, anyone had similar experiences?

I’ve got fibroids and when I started HRT patches a year ago, I bled every day for 2 months. I got fed up and stopped.

I want to restart HRT, wondering if anyone is/was in the same situation?

should I get the fibroids removed or just persevere?

Ah yes, this was me this time last year. I was on the cyclical tablets Novofem but I was so sick of having the monthly bleed, which was getting heavier and more painful, so asked the GP to change me to continuous, Elleste conti. Was ok for 2 months, then the bleeding started... Got worse and worse so I panicked and stopped taking it. GP referred me for ultrasound, who referred me on to gynae, where I got a surprise hysteroscopy with no warning Sad. By this time the bleeding had slowed to a stop. Exam showed fibroids, but I was discharged with no further treatment.

A few weeks later my meno symptoms were back with a vengeance. Hot sweats, brain fog, couldn't stop weeping and crying. So I started to take the tablets again, but only every 3rd day. I've been on this regime now for a year and its working well. GP keeps wanting me to swap tablets to try other stuff, but if I went on patches I don't think I'd feel as in control.

Anyway, that's where I am at the moment. Tablet every 3rd day, not a hint of bleeding and no meno symptoms at all.
