Any isolate themselves and feel constant paranoia?

Anyone just cut themselves off from others since having a family? I have 4 kids, feel isolated but all my own doing. I have no interest or energy in socialising or being around other mums. Love my babies more than anything but I don’t get pleasure from much, at least not in the way I used to. 44 and think I may be perimenopausal, taking HRT and stopped Zoloft over 2 years ago (switched to mirtzapine briefly but after a horrible reaction came off antidepressants altogether). Paranoid what others think of me and feel no energy to engage. Mull over and play back interactions thinking of all the dumb things I’ve said and if people think I’m a bad parent. Can’t stomach coffee anymore, alcohol makes me feel like dying the next day and full of shame and guilt. Convinced others are talking behind my back. No parents or emotional support to speak of. Dad is dead, mum has dementia. Moved from overseas 5 years ago and never really settled. Not in a good place at the moment folks. Can anyone relate. Is this my life now.

Well the sensible thing would be to look at re starting your zoloft (or an alternative) considering you are suffering paranoia which I dont think is a symptom of peri. Get that sorted first and then maybe your hrt will be more balanced? Good luck 😊

You possibly need a review of your HRT.
Doses often need changing.

Why did you start HRT?
Were you having symptoms and irregular periods?

Hi I am in 1g estrogen gel and cyclical progesterone orally from day 15 -28. Problem is my cycles are 40 days + so who knows what I should do about the timing of the progesterone dose.
Started HRT April 2025 so been on it a while. Don’t think it’s ever been the miracle I was hoping for.

Thanks I will look at that. Think I was trying to avoid antidepressants, largely due to the emotional “blunting” I’ve felt in the past and difficulty to orgasm/not as intense.

Your dose sounds low .

If you're using gel, 2 pumps is 1.5mgs of estrogen.

How many pumps are you using? 2 is medium and as you're so young you may need 3 or even 4 pumps.

You don't follow your own cycle and you should have a withdrawal bleed after the last progesterone tablet. The easiest way is to take 12 days starting on the same DATE each month - eg the 1st.

I'd go back to your GP and talk through increasing your gel to 2 pumps or 3, depending what you'r e on now.
. You don't really need 'permission' but you will go through the bottle faster so it's worth talking it over.
