I’m 40, and until 6 months ago I’ve always had very regular periods.

Since then I’ve had one very light bleed. So gaps of 3 months (and counting) each side.

I feel fine - no obvious memo symptoms beyond tiredness (but I have a full time job and small kids so I assume it’s that?).

This feels early and non-eventful for menopause. So I’m wondering if it’s something else / or if I should go to the GP. Any ideas?

I assume you've checked you're not pregnant?

It's early, but not massively unusual at 40. But there are other possibilities. Stress can mess with your hormones, too, as can weight loss. Under 45 they should do a blood test to confirm, so make a GP appointment.
