Starting HRT patches today

Does anyone take the mini pill
with the HRT patches? I haven’t had a period in years and just wondering if I might get one or some spotting and how soon. Hoping not!

I have just been prescribed today. I am 53. I have brain fog (missing things at work and poor concentration), palpitations, anxiety and a wired feeling usually in the middle of the night (sometimes trying to go to sleep), temp fluctuations, night time urination, general poor sleep, frozen shoulder, dryness etc. Really hoping it helps!

GP was lovely, explained about risks and benefits. Explained about cortisol spikes. Said lack of sleep won’t help with work and anxiety. I have 3 months and then to go back for a review. I am continuing with vaginal oestrogen which I have been on for a few weeks.

For those of you in the continuous patch, how long did it take to help?

HRT was life changing for me. Got rid of the 50 or so hot flushes a day. No more night sweats and brain fog lifted after using them for a few months.
you may have a slight spotting break through bleed but that is normal.
good luck with it.
