Hi All, I'm 40 and been on oestrogen gel for 3 months (two pumps a day)

It seems to be helping but my bloods indicated my testosterone levels are rather low and as such i've been prescribed 40mg Testogel sachets with the instructions to use 1/8 of a sachet per day.

I've yet to begin taking them due to anxiety of the numerous potential negative side effects (think facial hair, acne, receding hairline etc)

Has testosterone helped any of you and if so, how?

Note: I don't suffer with a low libido but was advised it can help with my energy levels etc.

Start very low and increase over a few weeks would be my advice as it can make you feel a bit jittery at first if too much. Just ime.

Apply on a morning as it can affect sleep.

Ime it returned sexual response to pre peri levels so well worth it. No extra body hair, apply to an area without hair like inner thighs.

I don't think I'm more energetic but I don't feel exhausted and that's maybe as good as it gets!

It's been great for me. But I wanted it for libido.

I do now have more facial hair but I had some before so it's not unmanageable.

I put it on the inside of the top of my arm. No hair growth on site.

Had some very sore nipples once when I was using it more than I should have done before a holiday.

I don't take it scientifically. I don't worry about having a bit too much some days. And I always forget to use it at weekends which evens things out.

I love it basically.

Oh and I take it whenever I remember morning or evening. And I wasn't jittery when I started it either.

Been using it since August 2023. GP prescribes and does 6month blood test to check levels.

I have taken it for couple of years. It helped with libido but sadly not energy! My body hair had stopped growing in meno, and it started it growing again, but only in the very normal light way it had grown pre meno.
