What’s your Progesterone regime?

My progesterone tablet prescription states to take 1 tablet every night on days 1 to 25 of a 28 day cycle. So after they were prescribed I started taking them on the first day of my next period as advised by my GP. I will be taking 25 tablets, have 3 days off, then start again. I’m also applying oestrogen gel daily.

Will I get my period on my 3 days off?

I chat to lots of different women daily as part of my job and I’ve yet to talk to anyone who’s progesterone dose/frequency is the same as mine, even though their oestrogen is the same.

Some take it for 10 days a month, some for 14, some double dose for a set number of days, usually 7 days.

How do you take yours? And why is everyone prescribed differently?

That's interesting.
It's usually better to increase estrogen as progesterone isn't used 'for sleep' it's just a side effect which some women find debilitating and others love..

Have you tried increasing your estrogen dose?

Might you talk to your GP on that?

Yes I've increased from 2 pumps to 3 so I'll see how that goes.

I’ve recently changed from sequi 50mg patches to oestrogen daily 75mg plus 200mg progesterone tablets days 14-28.
the reason I changed was because after 9 months I was still bleeding more than once. Also feeling anxious and not sleeping still (if I forgot to take antihistamine which helps)

On this new stronger dose I feel a lot better on the progesterone days (only on my second month). I sleep, I feel happier and less anxious. On just the oestrogen I still feel anxious a lot. If this continues can I take progesterone every day? I’m 50 and as mentioned seem to have my own bleed as well as a withdrawal bleed.
ive had a scan and tests and everything was ok.

I'm on 100mg daily, with evorel 50 patches. The packet says use day 1-26, but i clarified it with my GP who said daily is fine as I hadn't had a period for two years. The alternative for me would be to take two utrogestan for 14 days out of the month, but I prefer the constant low dose. Body seems quite happy and I'm much more comfortable now. Hope to take long term as it's a low dose
