Best way to stop HRT? I’ve been on HRT since I was 42 (im 48 now)I had the coil but had a new coil put in in August 2025 and it triggered a chronic yeast infection I’m still trying to get rid of even after removing it the end of January. I’m now on utrogestan have been for 3 months and am bloated and my hormonal migraines have become more frequent. I don’t want the patch with progesterone in as I got anxiety the first 3 months of the coil being put in and it’s the same hormone and obviously don’t even want to contemplate putting anything up my vagina. So I now am at the point of being done with it all as it’s wrecking my body. I’m on a 75 patch. I think maybe going to a 50 patch for a bit then down again? Anyone with any experience of this please. Yes I do know the benefits of HRT but genetically we have no osteoporosis etc. No matter what I’ve been on I’ve always had some symptoms it’s never stopped it all

Hi, I’m older than you and was on evorel conti for 8 years. It was a life saver at the time, but I did have a few niggles with it that made me want to see if I could manage without. I gradually trimmed my patch over a few months until I was on about a third, then removed it completely a month ago.
I’m getting minor flushes and my sleep is a bit broken, but hopefully that will settle down. Generally I feel much better without it.
That said I’m 60 and definitely past menopause, you could still be in the middle of it. Don’t be put off trying the combi patch, I didn’t get on with the coil or utrogestan either but did ok on the patch.
Hope you find what works for you.
