Bleeding on depo after no periods for years

Wasn’t sure where to put this really, but I suspect I’m perimenopausal.

I’ve been taking the depo injections with no issues for 12 years, periods stopped almost immediately and have had spotting maybe once or twice a year since.

the last 18 months or so I’ve noticed other changes, unexplained anxiety, itchy skin, dry skin, mood fluctuations, hot flushes and so on. However the last few days I’ve had what can only be described as a light period, some light pain but nothing too much.

has anyone experienced this whilst on depo? I’m 43. It feels like it could be related and light google searches suggest it could be but looking for real life experiences. I really don’t fancy doing the whole period thing after all this time.

I had this happened in my early forties - bleeding and sleep disturbance after many years happily on depo and then the implant.

Yes, like you after years and years of no period about a year ago when I was 43 I had a light period for a couple of days and nothing since then. I had my 2 year review since and they weren’t concerned. I had some night sweats but started taking some vitamins and supplements which seem to have stopped them.

Yup. Same here. Nothing on depo for years, now light bleeding.
