Excuse my ignorance. I am 50 and no doubt peri menopausal. I'm not on HRT. A new thing is very strong PMT symptoms but no periods arriving. Sore breasts, tired, bloated, pale etc... will these pass if no periods arrives?

It’s hard navigating this stage isn’t it. I don’t have an answer do you still have occasional periods?

I am a similar age menopausal and recently had PMT symptoms and actually with a 4 day light bleed. Sore breasts, bloated, tired. This is after no periods for two years. Not on HRT - think it is my oestrogen hormones having a last harrah ?! 🤷‍♀️ My symptoms are reducing now but I felt very uncomfortable and hadn’t had this for a long time.

I assume the symptoms will pass but if concerned do get checked out. Others will be better to advise.

I feel much more severe PMS symptoms when my period is delayed (also lots worse hot flushes), the later it is the worse they get until my period arrives.

I asked my menopause specialist - she said that when your period is very delayed your estrogen levels get very low.

I have fairly regular periods usually though and I am on HRT, so I'm not sure how this would fit with having infrequent periods and not on HRT. I would think this would be different if you do not usually have periods.
