Memory and confusion!

My family hav started commenting on my memory. I rarely know what day do the week it is and the forgetfulness is causing problems at work. I go to appointments on the wrong day, missed family birthday, forgot a flight and have to get my medication in a daily box or I don’t take it. I forget to brush my teeth, it is bad.

i spoke to the pharmacists about if increasing my progesterone and oestrogen would help and she thought not. She didn’t think the HRT helped brain fog. I’m on max oestrogen and 2 tablets of urogestin. Patches didn’t work because I forgot to change them on the right day never knew what day it was. It’s a catch 22

does anyone have this symptom and a solution that isn’t a digital calendar and alarms? I’m using all that and am still not coping . I feel ridiculous.

HRT will help brain fog. But if you're already on the highest dose, something needs looking into.

How is a digital device (ie phone alarm - a reminder) not helping?

I'm wary of saying this but your GP should refer you for tests in case it's possibly early dementia - at least get that ruled out.

Forgetting the day of the week, flights, and when to take meds sounds quite worrying, if you can't rely on digital or old fashioned written reminders around the house etc. It needs investigating.

Yes, it is pretty bad.

alarms go off and I forget what they were for or get distracted before I do the thing they were to remind me . I have a wall planner, a day planer and a digital calendar but I cannot organise them consistently. There are post it notes everywhere but I can’t keep on top of a to do list at all

I stopped adhd medication when my BP was too high. it’s better now but I think I am more distracted and that’s definitely worse with menopause’s.

I’ll ask to see the psychiatrist for more adhd drugs. Agree there are some things to rule out. I wouldn’t pass a mental test they give you with concussin if I don’t know what dat it is.
