Do Everol Sequi patches need to stay in sync with periods?

I’ve been using Everol Sequi patches since May last year. I started the first packet on the first day of my period - the GP said that my period would then roughly tie in with the end/start of each packet.

It did to begin with but as the packets are in a 28 day cycle and my periods are about 23 days they’ve fallen out of sync. For example, my period started today but I’ve still got 2.5 weeks of my current HRT packet left.

Does this matter? I thought it was supposed to be more of a withdrawal bleed in between packets rather than an actual period but this doesn’t seem to be the case?!

Interested in the answer too as I am rubbish at being exact with my swap over days and am more than likely out of sync. But I've not really had a period bar a couple of days of light discharge last month since last year.

The patches should be regulating your bleed.

half the patches contain progesterone. When you finish those your bleed should start. I’m not sure why your period is not bring regulated. It’s like the traditional pill. The hormones regulate the bleed

That’s what I thought so it seems odd that it doesn’t coincide?? I might check with the GP. I feel awful at the moment - really low, teary and lacking in any motivation - this might mar sense if the hormones from the HRT and the hormones from my period aren’t quite matching?!

No I have been on mine 3 years and my cycle ranges from 20-36 days which means they have never regulated my cycle at all 🤷‍♀️
