Desperate. Anyone well into menopause found HRT restarted endometriosis?

That’s it. 57 ffs. Very disappointed and in pain. Endo symptoms departed after 9 horrible years (including surgery) and now seems back with a vengeance. Only explanation is I took too much Oestrogen - as directed by the way. A blood test last month showed I had extremely high levels of Oestrogen- so much so I stopped and just took Progesterone. This seems to be the result. Been taking HRT for a couple of years .Please share any thoughts advice or whatever. Thanks

Can you restart HRT but on a lower dose of estrogen and enough progesterone to keep the endo under control?

Why were you told to use a high dose in the first place considering you had endo?

How much oestrogen versus progesterone were you taking fur those 2 years? Sorry your going through this

Same age, similar health history, my endo flares still but it’s nowhere near as bad.
Your hormones are clearly out of balance.
Mine were I sadly had to pay to go privately - for speed as well as results - I take the lowest dose of oestrogen possible and Utrogestan every day with no breaks.
I did used to have a week off the Utrogestan every month but that was causing the bleeding which again kicked off the Endo.
I also had some breakthrough bleeding at other times for a while and was sent for an urgent scan - it was a collection of ovarian cysts causing the extra pain as well.
One thing I have really had to learn is to advocate for myself. It is easy to just be fobbed off.
I still get some pain but now with a bit more balance I can function more. To the doctor who told me ‘oh the menopause will completely finish your endo journey’ - clearly was a man!!!!

My gynaecologist told me that I shouldn’t take HRT with oestrogen for that very reason. He did offer alternatives at the time but I can’t remember the details. This is after my GP had put me on Evorel patches and said it wouldn’t be a problem. Gynaecologist was furious.

Get a second opinion, they don’t all know what they are doing.

Thank you @LittleCrumblyBiscuit @ThisJadeBear @JinglingSpringbells @Lizzbear
THANK YOU ALL. Actually this was with taking advice from a private hormone doctor.
I can only think that after two years of tryngi different doses they had forgotten how extrenely bad my endo history was. My oestrogen was very low about two months ago so they upped the dose. This is the result. I feel very irriated as well as crap - in my case unlike you and I am sorry to hear this @ThisJadeBear my menopause did 'disappear' the endometriosis which was why I waited for a long time to try HRT...but I can honestly say that for me the benefits have not outweighted the return of endo. Javelin bum, hideous bloating, shooting up the leg pain etc. I presume that as I am 57 this will end as I am not producing it myself, but in the interim it is grim.I am still taking progesterone and have written to the doctor I saw. I feel quite hopeless about it.

I have severe endo, stage 4 deep infiltrating
my gynae has said HRT fine but I need extra progesterone
so I have a mirena, oral progesterone every night and then oestrogen gel
fingers crossed I’ve been ok but I did have excision surgery less than a year ago

Yes, I’m in agony all of the time. I really need the oestrogen because it seems to help with all of my other menopause symptoms, but my body is buckling under the endo pain. My GP is clueless about both endo and menopause!
