I’m 48 and going through the dreaded M! I live with my partner who earns a good wage, I work p/t but atm I’m really struggling, having lots time off as I’ve also been dealing with other health issues, poss endometriosis and I’ve also got adenyomosis, fibroids etc, but the worst atm is plantar fasciitis, my job is on my feet for my shift , I’ve been off past 2 weeks, now obviously at 48 and with bills to share I can’t give up but is there any way I could get help does anyone know so I could maybe cut my hours, arghhhhh my 40s have been awful 😟

You can apply for flexible working at any age and in any circumstances! The company just has to be able to accommodate it (they can decline in business grounds, but have to be real reasons).

Take care. It sounds rough 😢

Thank you but I can’t cut hours as tbh it wouldn’t be worth me working, I really don’t know what to do

What does your gp suggest, have you been referred to gynae for a full assessment, is ablation or whatever they do for endo an option or name down for hysterectomy?

Regarding the plantar I had it years ago and managed it with PF innersoles and painkillers, it resolved fairly quickly but you definitely need specific footwear. What have you tried so far?

But you mentioned cutting your hours in your OP?

Zippidydoodah · 15/03/2026 19:07

Oh, I just re read and are you talking about benefits or something?

MeridaBrave · 15/03/2026 20:55

i found Osteopathy cured my plantar facitis and regular massages with a power plate kept it away. HRT has also helped with all the niggles

Thank you, I’m doing my stretches, insoles , I’m not sure about walking/working through this pain in my feet, I think a lot is also to do with menopause, I only get 4/5 hours sleep if I’m lucky too
