I picked up my prescription and as advised by GP started on 2 pumps of the gel. Within a couple of hours my anxiety was through the roof, felt very cold, nauseous and jittery, tearful at ridiculous things. That night I had headaches, loads of hot flushes (mine are usually quite sporadic), my sense of smell went into overdrive ( this was a pregnancy symptom for me so definitely hormone related) and I slept really badly! Overall, everything felt so much worse that it's put me off continuing with it.
Do you think I ought to go down to 1 pump and try again? I'm not sure if perhaps my oestrogen isn't as low thought and 2 pumps pushed me over the edge! Or is this a reaction to the gel and I should ask for patches instead. I really don't think I can cope with feeling worse...

Start on 1 pump or even 1/2 a pump (just pump out less.)

I really don't know why Gps don't advise this in the first place.

It's a medium dose (2 pumps) and it's far better to start low for a few weeks and work up if you need to. (Advice from menopause consultant when I started HRT years ago.)
