Will estradiol pessaries help?

I’m looking to improve clitoral sensation and was hoping to be prescribed a cream but have instead been prescribed pessaries. Will the effect of these reach the vulval area? Anyone has any experience of this please?

The pessaries are first line on our local formulary - that may have been the case for the OP too. Costs are similar so not usually the issue, it’s probably a default unless the woman requests cream.

Most of my patients prefer the pessaries as the cream can be messy. But you can certainly request cream or gel.

Pessaries like Vagifem work in the vagina only. They aren't reaching the clitoris or vulva.

For that, you need to apply cream to the area.

Just ask for cream as well as , or instead of.

You can also buy it now over the counter or online. It's called Ovesse.

I get Ovestin( estriol cream) and apply via the applicator( internally) and I put some over the outside incl clitoris.

Sorry to ressurect this and hope you can help, - I am really struggling with clitoral sensation and it’s really getting me down. My libido hasn’t left the building yet so struggling to orgasm is putting a right dampener on things.

I am currently on the loading dose phase of Vagirux so if I buy some of the cream to go alongside it, do I use it in addition to the Vagirux or swap completely. And how often do I use the cream?

For info, in case relevant, I’m also on 2 pumps of oestrogel and prog is 200mg 12 days a cycle. Thank you.

The loading dose of the cream is every night for two weeks( internally with applicator) and apply outside too. After that it’s twice a week. It does help.
