Blood Tests

I've been pre-diabetic for about ten years. I'm overdue for my annual blood test for glucose and HbA1c.

I'm in my late 40s and still have regular periods, but I've been feeling unwell lately. I'm very thin despite having a huge appetite.

I'm going to book a blood test asap. I'm going to ask the GP surgery to check my thyroid levels as well. I assume I'm peri-menopausal. I wondered what blood tests the ladies here had to see if they were suitable for HRT. I've suffered with bad PMT all my life.

I'm aware I could have full blown diabetes now but thought I might as well get everything else tested at the same time.

Perimenopause is a clinical diagnosis, it doesn't require a blood test if you are over 45.

If you are symptomatic you can be prescribed HRT by your GP.

Absolutely agree with @Charliede1182

Symptoms alone provide a diagnosis and most GPs will then prescribe HRT. Do the research on what type you'd like before you go.
