What’s going on?

I’m 54 and have been on HRT for around 5 years. Last year I had the Mirena coil and went on to Evorel 50 patches. All been fine with no problems. The last month I’ve started up with night sweats nearly every night and now my discharge has become very heavy (no smell though). What’s going on? Where do I go from here? Is this still menopause stuff? Do I just live with it? My moods and brain fog seem fine still. Interested if anyone else has had similar. Thanks

Time for a review and check up. I'm the same age and on hrt around the same length of time and definitely needed to tweak the dose a few times. I never used a coil, the patches worked but only estrodot which became almost impossible to source so I switched to gel and found it so much better. I was on 100 patch and now use 3 pumps of gel (plus progesterone tablets) but occasionally I find an odd hot flushes creeping in so I go back to 4 pumps of gel for a week or so and then I'm fine again, I find if I'm stressed or unwell it definitely effects my hormones so using gel allows me make little adjustments as needed. Please get checked re the coil, just to be sure its ok. Maybe suggest trying progesterone alongside the patch to even things out but I know some gp's don't want to do this with a coil but progesterone has many benefits including aiding sleep. Best of luck.

More or less exactly the same here !! Was at doc this morning. She removed my mirena and upped the HRT .

Thanks. I put in for a repeat prescription but listed the issues I’m having and that I want to discuss then with the GP. Hopefully I can get it sorted. My sleep is bad at the moment so anything that helps that would be good.

Sound like you need to up your dose. The maximum is 100.
