How to get a gp appointment?

I am 42 and feel like I am having peri symptoms. I want to discuss having the mirena coil. I have tried 5 times to see the gp about it. Every time I complete an e-consult I get pushed back. If I say I need a coil for contraception I get sent to the sexual health clinic who won't discuss peri or hormonal issues at all. If I say I want it for hormones then they say I'm too young and I can't have it as it's only for contraception before 45.

How do I get to see or speak to a doctor about it? I don't just want to go to the sexual health clinic as I want to discuss whether it's right for me and what other things I might need. Any tips on how to beat their algorithms?

Say you are having hormonal issues or period problems, can't you phone the e consult probably has an algorythim that is rigid.

Just ring and book an appointment to discuss perimenopause. At the surgery I work at if you say you want the coil or contraception we have to signpost you to sexual health services or a pharmacy for the contraceptive pill, we aren’t allowed to book an appointment for this.
