I am 55. I had a hysterectomy 15 years ago but left my ovaries in. I have to assume I am now post menopause. Beyond some hot flushes and some lack of sex drive I haven’t had any major symptoms and haven’t taken HRT. In the last 6 months or so however, my vagina has become extremely dry. Is there anything I can get over the counter or is this a GP thing? Not sure if anyone has experienced anything similar?

Estrogen cream and pessaries from your GP, I use both. Problem fixed pretty quickly

And yes, just about every woman will experience atrophy

No necessarily. Just as some women don't experience menopause symptoms.

Thank you. I have had a quick read but as a migraine sufferer it, it looks like I can’t take it unfortunately.

That doesn't necessarily rule it out, have a chat with a doctor, preferably one well versed in HRT

You probably can. Vaginal oestrogen is extremely low dose and not absorbed systemically like other oestrogen in HRT is. Ask to see a menopause specialist if your GP won’t prescribe it.
