How to get the sticky black marks off skin after HRT patches?

I started on Evorel Sequi patches last month; change them twice a week. I wear black knickers and tend to wear black/navy jeans.

The black sticky mark left on my thigh/buttock is a nightmare to get off! I've tried scrubbing with shower gel and a puff in the shower, baby oil and warm coconut oil with a cotton pad. And picking with my nail with the oil on, but end up with red raw skin.

Anyone else any bright ideas please? It can be awkward if they're on my butt cheek, too, as hard to see what I'm doing.

Baby oil. I still had some in the cupboard from when my teenager was a baby. Apply a few drops to a cotton wool pad, rub gently over & over (no need to scrub). It seems like it's not doing anything then suddenly the glue all just slides off. Do this before a shower/bath to wash the oil off, and apply the next patch on the other side so any leftover oil doesn't stop it from sticking.

if you've tried oil and it didn't work you were probably just giving up too soon. Do it on dry skin and just keep going over & over gently, it should come off.

Nudi spray was useless for me.

Thanks everyone. Sorry, did that thing of posting before work then not having time to check back! Glad I'm not alone, and hope the thread helps others.

Seems I'm being too impatient with the baby oil. I shall pop it on and leave for ten mins or so after showering. Always switch sides with the patches anyway.

I use coconut oil. I melt it and add a tiny bit of wild oregano oil as I'm mildly allergic to the glue and the coconut oil oregano mix seems to help.

I use “Sticky Stuff Remover” on a cotton wool ball then shower.

Baby oil on a cotton pad.

Thank you for asking this as I have the same issue!!

And having just showered, I can confirm that using the patch you are removing to rub off the black marks works a treat!

I used tattoo protecting patches and they stopped the patches peeling at the edges and getting the dark sticky edges

The Nudi Spray did nothing for me. The only thing that helps at all is nail varnish remover - or picking at it when it’s dry. I had an exfoliating thing done last week and even that didn’t shift the marks - they’re very committed!

Rub the area with the patch you are taking off - works really well at removing the black marks,
