Constant Spotting/Bleeding

Hi, I’m 47 and for the last 35 days I’ve been either bleeding lightly or spotting (a darker, brown blood) every day. When my actual period has been due, I’ve bled but nowhere near as heavy as a “normal” period. I suspect this is just perimenopause rather than anything sinister. Has anyone else experienced this, and do you think sequential HRT would help to regulate things so that I’m not bleeding/spotting all the time?

Short advice: See a doctor.

Longer:You’re not overreacting.
You’re not being dramatic.
You’re not “catastrophising.”

At 47 with 35 days of bleeding, the sensible move is:

See a doctor.

Not because it’s likely sinister — but because persistent abnormal bleeding should be evaluated once, properly, and then you can relax.

If everything comes back normal, great — then you can talk about HRT as a management tool.
