Extreme hanger since coil fitted

Had mirena coil fitted about 3 weeks ago to lighten period. i’ve had spotting non stop plus a fill period this weeks gone and have to stay I can’t stop eating! i go through extra hunger which then leads to overeating.
So far i’m not overly happy with the side effects of the coil. Has been more con than pro. The last thing i want to do is to put on weight when i’m feeling horrendous as it is

@Sunisshiningagain i had a rough first six weeks then absolutely no side effects at all.

I felt bloated for a few weeks too, breasts and stomach then it all settled once I'd gone through two natural cycles.

Def no extra eating.

But I did find that utrogestan gave me an incredible appetite.

thank you @Moveyourbleedingarse that’s good to know. It could be the combination of weather and half term that’s making me eat for the whole town.
I guess just have to stick with it for a bit longer and hopefully it will be worth. A summer without period would be a dream come true.
Im not in any progesterone yet so no added appetite but will bear that in mind for the future thank you X

@Sunisshiningagain er, you are... The mirena is progesterone!

You mean you aren't on oestrogen yet?!

Yes sorry i thought it was a type of estrogen. This is all a minefield.
Have switched to a different type or you are still on it?
