Estraderm when you haven't stopped having periods yet

Hi, I just got prescribed Estraderm patches and progesterone and reading the leaflet the Estraderm says it is for post menopausal women only (as in women who haven't had a period for a year).
I still have periods and my doctor knows this - are they sometimes used like this? Just looking for personal experiences as it will be a while before I can make another doctors appointment and I'm not sure whether to go ahead and see if its okay first before I go back.

Yeah I don’t know why they haven’t updated the patient information leaflet. You can use Estraderm when you’re perimenopausal.

Estraderm is just an oestrogen patch used to help with menopausal symptoms. How you take the progesterone tablets will vary depending on whether your periods have stopped or not.

Ah, thank you @Sidge ! I didn't think my GP was likely to have made a mistake.

Yes if perimenopausal you just take the progesterone for 12-14 days a month the patch is worn continuously but changed twice a week.

There are loads of HRT preparations that say that and it seems to be out of date information on the leaflets.
It's assuming women only start HRT post meno which isn't the case, of course.
