I’ve been on HRT for perimenopause for a few months. I’m on oestrogen patches and cyclical progesterone tablets with 2 weeks on 2 weeks off.
My understanding is that I should have a period after the progesterone cycle ends and I stop taking the tablets. Which is what happened the first month.
Last month I started bleeding after 1 week on the tablets and had a full period lasting 3/4 days. Then a week later mwhen I finished the 2 weeks of tablets I had another period of similar length. I thought it was a one off but I’ve just started my period again halfway through the 2 weeks of tablets! So I’m assuming when I stop them in a week time I’ll have another period again!
What is happening here? Is this normal? I don’t really fancy having 2 periods month for the foreseeable future!
I am also waiting for a call back from the doctor about booking in to have a coil fitted instead of the tablets but the only doctor in the practice that can book me in apparently has been on holiday and it appears that appointments with her are like rocking horse shit 🙄
