Bleeding during intimacy

At 58 I have gone through the menopause with thankfully few symptoms. However I bleed during intercourse which is affecting my intimacy with my partner. I have research this and it seems to be a fairly common symptom. I can see there are several recommendations online on how to improve the situation with pessaries, supplements and red light treatment being recommended. Can anyone who has experience bleeding during intercourse and successfully tried any of the remedies stated share your experience and recommendations. Thanks in advance

Hi no experience of this but it is something that flags a GP visit in my mind. You need to check if it’s anything more serious as the first symptom of lots of things is bleeding during sex.

Hi thanks for responding and your advice. I have recently been seen by a gynaecologist and had a minor procedure. Apparently the bleeding is caused by age, the menopause and a drop in oestrogen resulting in the vaginal wall becoming thin. The gynaecologist has prescribed pessaries but I was looking to see if there was anything else other ladies have used that had worked. Thank you for taking the time to respond

I had this it was something to do with vaginal atrophy and the pessaries and topical estrogen cream worked an absolute treat and sorted it out completely.
