Cyclical Progesterone

Hi all, I saw my doctor this morning about symptoms which heavily suggest I'm in perimenopause. I've been going back and forth for nearly three years now and had every test under the sun. I'm 40 this year and my mum was on HRT at 40.

My research suggested I'd be prescribed continuous progesterone, but the doctor has prescribed cyclical. The issue is that my cycle is now 46 days some months and not regular, so how do I know when to take the P? I have written a note to the surgery for clarification on this, was he incorrect in prescribing this given my cycle?

Hi. I am fairy new to HRT myself, but my understanding is that cyclical progesterone is prescribed for those who still have periods (even irregular): or if you are already on mini pill. The progesterone should be taken on day 15 after starting your patch- so if you put first patch on today that is day 1, progesterone would start 10th feb, then 10th march, 10th april
etc. HRT creates a new cycle, rather tha you following your own.

Yes I've clarified with him now but he said due to my erratic periods I need to guess when 12 days before will be...
