Constant nausea - is it permenopause?

Im 41 and have a few symptoms of peri - exhausted, moody, anxious, night sweats, hairy face, cycles aren't as regular and periods are either short or long.
For about 3 weeks now I've felt nauseous every single day and have thrown up at least once most days. It feels exactly like morning sickness (mine was all day, every day through both pregnancies). Ive done pregnancy tests.
Ive read about nausea in perimenopause but what ive read suggests it comes and goes through your cycle rather than being a constant.
Has anyone experienced this? Im trying to get a gp appointment. They sent me for a blood test a couple of weeks ago but then i was just told the results were normal apart from slightly low iron.

I had this from early December to a few weeks ago. I assumed Peri but I suspect I had a nasty virus that wouldn’t shift. Having said that been very careful about what I’m
eating and drinking as fearful of going back to it. I feel for you it’s very unpleasant.

Did it just suddenly stop?

Could be stomach infection? I'd ask for a stool test if it doesn't go away.

Hi @Frieda86 - I don’t think it suddenly stopped, gradually improved until one day I realised it wasn’t there. I have had gastritis before and it reminded me of that. Think that’s what I was really fretting about. But I do tend to ruminate.

I’ve been in perimenopause for 7 years and have had almost constant nausea (and a huge exacerbation of my IBS) for the last 4 years. It’s like living with a very very long bout of morning sickness.

I’ve had so many tests (including a second gastroscope 2 weeks ago) but they all come back as ok. I can only think it must be my out of whack hormones causing it. It’s horrible and hate it. I long for the day when it stops.

I recently had issues with nausea and reflux that I put down to menopause (I sometimes feel like I'm working my way down the symptom list just ticking them off! LOL).
I started taking prebiotics everyday and a few days of gaviscon before meals seems to have sorted it.

I had this and went through more pregnancy tests than I even did when I was trying to conceive. I think it was peri menopause (I did get morning sickness with my pregnancies too).

Thanks. I might try that. Did you have acid with it or did you just decide to try gaviscon?

How long did it last? Ive done 3 tests (I knew they would be BFNs) and gp insisted on a blood HCG test which i know is going to be neg.

I’m 52 and not finished with my periods so it still happens every now and then but not as often as it did in my 40s. I also take a probiotic and it helps (one called Saccharomyces Boulardii)

I'm not tbh although I have a lot of issues with endometriosis/adenomyosis and perimenopause has exacerbated it all. I think it is all connected.

I hope you manage to find something to ease it for you OP, good luck.

I had this a few weeks into the estrogen patch, certain smells made me gag and I had a few bouts of bad acid reflux and vomiting. It was around my period, never experienced it before but it settles with the progesterone. I think if it’s new for you maybe get it checked out.
