Patch dumping?

I was on HRT for 2 years with no problems and then suddenly last summer I started having a heat rash type reaction to them. I switched to the spray and got a similar reaction and then the same with the gel. Has anyone had this happen? It seems odd to suddenly become allergic to them when I was fine for so long. I was reading about absorption changing and getting a higher dose quickly and it sounds like this could be what was happening. Has anyone been prescribed smaller dose patches to change more frequently? Is this even a thing? Any advice welcome x

I was told I could cut them in half or use two

I am about to switch to the patch because the gel spreads too far and I end up with it all over like a body lotion! I had a call with the specialist who said that it can cause irritation on the area so to change the location of it frequently but it is quite normal. I am starting on a low dose and seeing if it prevents migraines at that level or if I need to go up as I am using it mostly to prevent them.
