Help! Confused how to take my sequential HRT

Just been prescribed sequential HRT - 2 x progesterone tablets per day for half the month and two pumps of oestrogen gel daily.

Progesterone leaflet says to take at bedtime on an empty stomach. I planned to use the gel in the morning after my shower. However, leaflet says to take all HRT at same time of day, so would this be ok? Instructions also say to start progesterone on day 15 of my cycle but I don't have a cycle! I'm 58 but not post meno as it's been only 8 months since my last proper period, although for the last 6 months I've only been having random light spotting (which has been fully checked out and is nothing sinister). FSH is 120 so hope to be post meno soon!

I did start another thread as my GP wouldn't prescribe continuous despite Nice guidelines stating continuous can be prescribed to over 55s even if not post meno.

I was tempted to take my prescription as continuous against my GPs advice (so 1 tablet daily instead of 2 for 2 weeks) but it would mean confessing I'd done so if it didn't work out so decided to follow instructions & discuss at my 3 month review. However, from reading the leaflet, it looks likely I will have a monthly withdrawal bleed which I absolutely don't want, especially as (fingers crossed) the spotting has finally stopped (not happened for over 3 weeks). I'm so done with periods at my age!

Really not sure what to do, so grateful for any advice. Thank you.

Bump! Just re-read the leaflet and it says "therapeutic cycle" so I presume it means I start taking the tablets 15 days after I started the gel which makes sense. So my only question now is whether it's OK to use oestrogen gel in the morning as I'd much rather use it after my shower. Also says you shouldn't have contact with anyone for an hour after applying which is another reason! Thanks.

Hi, yes that is fine to take in the morning and progesterone at night. Pick a date and start your progesterone on the same date each month. It does see off the dust pit you on continuous considering your age and been 8 months without a period.

Thanks, not sure what "off the dust" means though 🤣

While I've not had a period since April last year I have had spotting which I understand still counts. Presume I'll have to wait until I've gone a year since the last spotting episode to be post meno, but yes being 58 with sky high FSH, I would think I'd be ok for continuous, but anyway.....
