Vaginal estrogen - estriol versus estradiol?

Hi all

I have been struggling with vaginal atrophy for 18 months now and have used various types of topical HRT which perhaps improved things but still not OK. Most of them have been estriol based such as Ovestin or Blissel. I recently saw a gynaecologist who said a estradiol one like vagifem may be better for me. Also interestingly the British Menopause Society says that one type often suits people better than the other. Therefore perhaps there is something in it?

So my question is - have you had no meaningful improvement with estriol and then been much better with estradiol (or vice versa)?

I guess essentially I'm looking for some hope that switching type might help me get over this?

Xxx

I switched to pessary tablets as I hated the cream. Currently have vagifem. Why not try and see!
