Increased libido in perimenopause squashed by HRT

I’m 49 and definitely in peri but the past few years I’ve had a much better libido. I didn’t think too much about it (it wasn’t wild but nicely heightened). I had some signs of peri with brain fog and terrible breakouts being the worst. Was prescribed oestrogel and have been having one pump a day. It’s been 3 months and my libido has plummeted. Could it be that? And has anyone experienced the same and found a solution? I feel a bit silly going to the GP to say that the treatment is working for the other symptoms but this is a side effect. Especially as I imagine my increased libido was a result of decreased estrogen relative to testosterone in my body. But it was so nice to feel alive in that way I’d like it back! Should also say I’m on the coil so have progesterone and that’s been consistent for the past 10 years.

I’ve experienced the same! Was enjoying a mid-cycle increase in libido but it’s gone since starting HRT three months ago. I’m 43 and started HRT to help with very bad PMS and sleep issues which it has done, but no libido now.
