Cold breezes causing burning sensation

Does anyone else get this? So cold air causing an almost burning sensation? I had this at the start of perimenopause and now a couple of years in on HRT it’s appearing again. Hoping it will calm down but frustrating symptom when I need the window open due to overheating.

Sounds like allodynia (feeling pain from something which doesn't usually cause pain).

I had it for a while with clothing in the groin area.

It was related to hormones in my case, and did calm down once I was stable on HRT.

It's basically hypersensitivity of nerves. People take antidepressants (amytriptyline etc) for it, but I absolutely hated the side effects, luckily it calmed down once my hormones were more regulated.

It is a real thing though and your GP might he able to help.

Menopause really is the gift that keeps on giving. I'm obsessed with draughts now as they make me feel quite ill. I feel your pain!

I have this. Not just cold air but it feels like patches of my skin are burning. No idea why.

It did go away for ages, maybe things are fluctuating again. Seems to be worse on no sleep. Thank you for your replies, sorry to anyone with this symptom and others, ugh! 😤

Patches of your skin burning is a nerve thing...

Sorry I can't be more helpful than knowing what it is - I don't know how to fix it !

I just know that burning feeling = nerve pain.
